It's GOLF WEEK finally!

They're here!! Maxey and I went to the airport and picked up Jimmy and James (his Amarillo golfing friends) last night. They're here for A WEEK of golfing! They'll play AT LEAST 36 holes a day all week. What fun! Maxey is thrilled. He looks forward to this week every year. He's spent months planning the golf courses they'll play! They started their day before 6:00 this morning...

Laney's Little Animal Quilt

My granddaughter, Laney, turned 2 on April 21st. I have had an idea for a little quilt using Beanie Babies, so I made it for her.

I appliqued her name on the center square, then sewed the animals on facing the center. I only used the upper half of each of the animals. (If you have a suggestion using 8 hineys let me know!)

I quilted it myself with very high loft batting.

Then I created a matching birthday card.

It was fun! It's always fun creating something for someone you love...and I love her SO MUCH!!

Yippee!

I just QUILTED my first quilt.

I made it for my youngest grandson's 3rd birthday.

He loves "The Three Little Pigs"! He has even named all the pigs.

I bought the fabric panel that is meant to be made into a fabric book. However, I put borders around each individual page and added some sashing.

Then...I CAN HARDLY BELIEVE IT...I quilted it myself on my mid-arm machine. This was my first try! Yippee!!!

 The backing is little roads with construction machinery.

I think he's going to love it. (I hope!) It was certainly fun to create!

It looks like Spring is here!

We have little clumps of thin-bladed dark green grass that comes up every spring. I got most of it dug out last year. Maybe this will be its last year!!





I don't mind digging it. I have a tool that works great, and I get to enjoy the beautiful weather.

I don't have many irises left because Maxey doesn't care for them; however, the few that are left are wonderful. This photo is of the first one to bloom this year.

An old friend is back in town!

Teddy Ruxpin! One of my favorite friends from the 80's has come to live with us. I used to love hearing him read his storybooks and sing all the songs when Kit and Maile were little. I hope the grandkids enjoy him as much as the 3 of us did, but if not...I'm enjoying him! Now I just need to get Grubby to work.
